What You Will Learn in Cohort 1:
- Month 1: Compulsory Digital Literacy for the Modern Age: Lay a rock-solid foundation in essential computer and internet fundamentals. Master key terminologies, abbreviations, advanced operating system navigation and optimisation, efficient file management, crucial online safety practices, basic cybersecurity best practices (like using strong passwords, identifying phishing, and understanding the reasons to stay safe online), and netiquette for professional digital communication. This foundational course also includes effective use of cloud collaboration tools and online productivity tools (e.g., Free Cloud storage, AI tools, Collaboration tools, etc.), guidance on signing up on popular tech mediums and sites to create a strong tech professional presence, an introduction to fundamental concepts of version control (like Git and GitHub), along with recommendations for essential tech sites to bookmark and leverage for continuous learning and professional networking. This foundational course is mandatory for all interns, ensuring everyone is on the same page for advanced training.
- Months 2-3: Become a WordPress Web Developer: Dive into the world of web creation, learning to build professional, dynamic websites without needing to write complex code. This is a project-based course: By the end, every intern will design and build their very own comprehensive tech portfolio website, a tangible asset to showcase your skills to employers and clients.
